How do I book a tour? +
Use the booking form above, send us an email, or message us directly on WhatsApp. We confirm all bookings within 24 hours and provide full payment details at that point.
Do I need to book in advance? +
We recommend booking at least 48 hours in advance for walking tours, and significantly earlier for festival visits and multi-day experiences. During the Bakatue Festival period in July, accommodation and tours fill up weeks ahead.
Can you arrange accommodation? +
Yes. For multi-day packages and custom itineraries, we can arrange accommodation recommendations and assist with bookings. Check our Hotels page for our honest guide to where to stay in and around Elmina.
Do you cater for large groups? +
Absolutely. We regularly host academic delegations, diaspora groups, cultural organisations, and tour groups of all sizes. Contact us with your group size and we will design an experience accordingly.
What currency do you accept? +
We accept Ghanaian Cedis and major foreign currencies including US Dollars, British Pounds, and Euros. Payment details are provided on booking confirmation. Mobile money payments are also accepted.
What is your cancellation policy? +
Cancellations more than 48 hours before the tour receive a full refund or free rescheduling. Cancellations within 48 hours are subject to a 50% charge. No-shows are non-refundable. We are always willing to discuss rescheduling.
Are your tours suitable for children? +
Most of our tours are suitable for children, though the Elmina Castle tour and Assin Manso journey contain content relating to the Transatlantic Slave Trade that parents should consider and contextualise for younger visitors.
Do you support research visits? +
Yes. Brand Elmina provides logistical, contextual, and expert support to academic researchers, documentary filmmakers, and heritage professionals. Please contact us with details of your project.
Can you produce content for our organisation? +
Yes. Brand Elmina offers multimedia storytelling and content production services — video, documentary, photography, and digital content. See our Services page for details or contact us with your project brief.
What should I wear on a heritage tour? +
Comfortable, breathable clothing is recommended — it gets hot in Elmina. Bring water and sun protection. When visiting the castle and traditional shrines, modest dress (covering shoulders and knees) is appropriate and respectful.
